Chestnut amphora
by Jade Paton
Unique piece handcrafted by South African Jade Paton for Volume Ceramics.
Jade Paton, a young ceramicist based in Cape Town, produces unique hand-molded pieces. She constantly experiments and demonstrates true creative freedom to imagine collections that are sometimes raw, sometimes glazed in very bright colors. Her vocabulary of shapes is wide and generous. She draws her inspiration particularly from ancient vases and amphorae and is always experimenting.
Daughter of florists in Cape Town, the vase theme particularly inspires her and drives her to create pieces that are both sculptural and functional.
